Southbank Pool Surrounds
The Southbank Pool Surrounds project involved the upgrade of the surface treatments to the islands adjacent to the Streets Beach Pool, associated seating walls and a large timber deck.

This unique project presented a myriad of challenges associated with ensuring the pool and beach remained open throughout the entire construction period.
The staged works included the demolition and removal of the existing garden beds and associated boulder border on the islands as they were causing issues with water management.
A lack of access ensured that the majority of the works were carried out with physical labour and skilled craftsman. The installation of canter-levered, formed and poured in-situ coloured concrete platforms with strip lighting provides small planting nodes and the much needed seating and hardstand edge adjacent to the pool. Works also included seating nodes, umbrellas, signage, an extensive lighting and CCTV system, advanced planting and a new deck to the Clem Jones Promenade.
